middle of where?

One thing that I just found out is that there are several camping areas around us.  Granted, the only time that camping really crosses my mind is when we are getting ready for float trips.  One downside to that is we partake in, at most, two a year.  And we have the equipment for camping.  Two of our friends went camping a couple of weeks ago and said that they did just about nothing, which sounds great for a weekend away from Wichita.  They did have to deal with flooded areas because of the wet spring we have had, so that would be a bummer.  

I think that the optimal time to go is now, at the end of May or the beginning of June.  When I was younger, we would go camping once a year with our family friends and it always seemed to be in the middle of the summer.  July time.  It is way too hot down here to go camping in July or August.  I suppose the camping option could possibly extend into the fall, but that leads to the question of when camp grounds close.  

One thing I would love is to just get away.  Finding a campground that is in the middle of nowhere.  To have peace and quite and no city.  Maybe just a small town nearby to make a beer run.  

Yeah, I like that idea.
