Canada Day in Kansas

Thats right kids, Canada Day is celebrated in the god awful state of Kansas. Well, by us anyways. We brought the tradition down last year and over to Pams house and it seemed to be a hit. So this year we get to do it all over again, but this time in our apartment. Just a few friends and a lot of Labatt, Molson, maple syrup, and Canadian Club.

There may also be a beaver sighting, but that'll happen only if Kim shows up (don't get any kinky ideas, she has a finger puppet beaver). Post and pictures of the relaxing evening will be posted a couple of days afterwards.

Until then...don't forget to hug your local Canadians (they can be found in bars and around hockey rinks)

More from St. Thomas

Some more pictures from our vacation to St. Thomas. We finally got a hold of the tons and tons of pictures that our families took while they were down with us. Here are Andrea and I hanging out on a boat ride. It was great, it was a sunset cruise on a sail boat that our whole family took. Literally, all ten of us went on it. It was a nice way to start out the vacation.

Zoie loves to be sitting up, well propped up seeing as how she is only three months old in this picture. This is what we all refer to as the 'Budda Baby' pose. She is just so happy and chubby, which is alright.

Andrea and I at dinner the night of our wedding. We went down and talked to the manager of one of the restaurantes at the resort and he hooked us up with a great seating arrangment facing the bay. This bay to the right. There were so many hills and twisting roads if you were prone to motion sickness and had a bad driver, you could be in for some rough rides.

The rest of the pictures are of the three of us: Shel, Chuck and I at a pig roast that a restaurante. My mom, in all her picture taking wonder, managed to get me in the middle of a sentence so I look half drunk. And last but not least...Alan with the Fonzie look. Heyyyyyy.

Time to play catch up.

She looked down upon a scene
In a nutshell, I got married. What was she thinking? I don't know either. Here are some photos from our trip to Saint Thomas. It was a wonderful time, I loved every minute of it, and of course, the marriage is wonderful. People keep asking us if it feels any different. Not really. If you live with someone for six some years before you get married, you get to know them pretty well. So the only thing that has really changed is I have to remember to put on a wedding ring before going to work. And that problem is solved by putting it on top of my wallet.

Up the stairs, take a left. ...So it is taking to long to upload some pictures from the actual wedding, so fuck it. Go to my Flickr account (linked on the right) and see some that I have on there. I do have a couple of pictures that I took around the island though. This staircase was down an alley and was a little disturbing, it is something that you would be taken up if you were caught stealing or something like that and then the government would cut off your hand.

Green Shutters

One thing that I really wanted to see when we were down there was Fort Christian. I was fuckin ready to see it, I was pumped, stoked if you will. We
get downtown and find out...closed for renovations. Well piss up a rope. I got one picture of the outer wall. One sweet thing is that they are pumping money into it to restore it, the only unfortunate thing is that they were doing so while we were visiting. I guess we'll have to make another trip in a year or two. :o) We were killing some time waiting for dinner so we hung out on the balcony of our room. Stelar view. I don't know if Andrea knew I took this shot, and if she did, she was ignoring me, but I wanted a shot like this. So it worked out. And here is a sun setting from our balcony. How can you argue with waking up and going to bed to a view like this? You can't, bottom line.
Sunset over St. Thomas

We did a lot of sitting and lying around at the beach. It was so nice. If you ever plan on gettin
g married, go away. Screw the big wedding scene, you won't dig it. It is so stressful and you have to deal with so many people. How can you turn down getting married in front of the ocean in front of your family. Seriously, check it out.
Two Chairs
Here we are on our last day on St. Thomas. Both of our families had left the day before, so it was nice to have a little us time.

Black and White Hands

Work is still going well. This week is going to be quite stressful. We are
having a big focus on the food side of the store from today on through the 20th. So we have some district people coming in randomly to check on that. I'm getting to hang out with other team leads some more and making some good friends. You know, people other than engineers at Cessna, not to knock them, we just don't connect I guess would be the simple way to put it.
