It is finally starting to get a little cool down here in Wichita. Yesterday when I went to work it was in the low twenties which begs the question, when is it time to bust out the winter coat? I feel that I can make it until the first snow, but there are days when it might be a necessity. I think that the benchmark may have to be when the temperature outside is below twenty, then I can get the winter coat out of the closet.
I hold off on getting it out for the main reason of not being outside for the majority of the day. I get in the car, drive to work, and stay inside for eight plus hours. By the time I leave for the day it could reach up to the forties or even the fifties, and if that is the case, who wants to carry around a heavy winter coat? Not I. For the time being, I have just been wearing hooded sweatshirts which have performed admirably.
I tend to go with the old adage, that if it is cold enough for a Kansan to wear a winter coat, a Michigander can wear a sweatshirt.
